Our business model
Our core skill is backing businesses that have
commercial traction, evidenced by customer revenues, and helping
them to grow to profitability or critical scale. We invest up to
£2million in a first funding round but are unusual in having the
ability to provide £6-8million over several rounds.
We look for dynamic management teams with a
compelling proposition in a fast growing market and focus on
financial services, technology, media and telecommunications,
healthcare and consumer facing businesses. We invest only in UK
based companies.Stage
Stage
We invest in companies across a number of
stages of their development from early revenue generating
generating to later stage rounds. We require some evidence of
commercial traction as proof of the product or service.
Sector
Our funds are not restricted to any specific
investment sectors however we are actively seeking opportunities in
TMT (technology, media and telecoms), financial services,
healthcare and consumer.
Investment amount
We invest up to £2m at a first round of
investment in a company. We have the ability to invest further in
each investment and typically expect to put up to £5m of funding
into any one portfolio company.
Exit horizon
We invest on an assumption that we are
embarking on a project which will last 3 to 5 years. This is
flexible and we work with each company that we invest in to find
the best way to maximise the value of each company. Working
in partnership with the management the MMC team aim to exit an
investment when it has reached significant scale and
profitability.
