Primary care provider The Practice has acquired Drummonds Medical, a supplier of medical support services. The move is part of The Practice's expansion strategy for its secure health services division, the company said.

MMC has been named runner up for EIS Fund Manager of the Year by the EISA. The EIS Association Awards have become a highly competitive challenge for members and denote excellence in a number of EIS fields. The Awards are presented to the company that has achieved outstanding performance in the context of the Enterprise Investment Scheme during the year. This year was declared 'very close, and some stiff competition', so special mentions went to the runners up. The awards were announced at the House of Commons on 28 January 2010.

The Practice has been shortlisted for Primary Care Provider of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards, which aims to promote excellence and recognise innovation in the healthcare sector.  The judging panel includes a team of experienced journalists and researchers, and the ceremony will be hosted at Hilton Park Lane in May.

The Rushlight Awards, which focus on the technology and innovation achievements of UK and Irish organisations in the journey to meet environmental goals, have announced that Breathing Buildings (formerly known as E-Stack) are the winners of the Energy Minimisation Award. This award goes to the technology or innovation that is proved to reduce the use of energy in a commercial or consumer setting. 

We are pleased to report that the BVCA's newly released handbook of the UK's most exciting new venture backed companies features over half (8) of our portfolio companies.  We had the third most entries of any VC company. 

Launched by the Government to recognise and celebrate the best of British science, innovation and technology, the iawards are backed by Science and Innovation Minister Lord Drayson and leading businessman James Caan.  At the Science Museum in London, E-Stack was awarded the iaward for Places to Live and Work 2009.

The Interbuild BSF 2009 exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, aimed at providing essential advice on best practice for the build and refubishment of schools, has announced that E-Stack are the winner of the Best M&E Innovation Award.  Other exhibitors included Monodraught and Gilberts, both suppliers of natural ventilation equipment. 

E-Stack have been shortlisted for the Green Business of the Year category at the 2009 Growing Business Awards presented by Real Business and the CBI.

MMC is one of the UK's 10 most active providers of private equity in the UK for deals requiring between £250,001 and £2 million.  The report published by Growth Business also included YFM, NESTA and Scottish Enterprise.
