Bruce Macfarlane, Co-founder and Director
Bruce is a co-founder and chief executive of MMC Ventures Limited. He has spearheaded MMC's development as a leading UK venture capital investor in fast-growing young companies. He brings experience of corporate finance, the law and extensive angel investing to the role. He is on the board of VC-Net.
Prior to starting MMC, Bruce had a career in corporate finance at Merrill Lynch, where he was a managing director and UK investment banking head, and Bankers Trust, where he was the partner and senior managing director responsible for UK client origination. Bruce qualified as a barrister in London then as an attorney in New York, where he practiced US securities law with Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He has a BA in English from Leeds University and is a Chartered Director.

Allan Cockell, Co-founder and Director
Allan is a co-founder of MMC Ventures Limited. For a number of years, Allan has been a keen investor in early stage high-tech companies, with particular interest in the healthcare sector. He sits on the Board of T+ Medical and Oxford Biosignals. Allan’s background is in financial market trading. Allan has an MA in History from Magdalen College, Oxford

Alan Morgan, Co-founder and Director
Alan is a co-founder of MMC Ventures Ltd. He has over twenty-five years' experience of strategic consultancy at McKinsey & Co, where for the last fifteen years he was Senior Partner and a leader of the firm's Financial Institutions Practice. Alan's main focus at MMC is reviewing business plans and management teams, and reviewing management performance and strategy of portfolio companies, post investment.
In 2006 Alan co-founded with Luqman Arnold, Olivant, an investment company that takes equity stakes in financial services businesses.
Alan has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a law degree from Trinity College, Oxford. He is a qualified barrister.

Ben Richardson, Director
Ben joined MMC in 2003 as an investment director responsible for new investments. He currently sits on the board of Clash Media and has previously represented MMC on a number of other boards.
Prior to starting at MMC, Ben worked as an investment banker for BNP Paribas focusing on financial institutions. Ben is a qualified accountant and has an MA in Natural Sciences from Queens' College, Cambridge.

Tom Hopkins, Director
Tom joined MMC in 2008 with a focus on MMC's portfolio companies post investment; reviewing management performance and strategy of all portfolio companies. He sits on the boards of Small World, the Practice and Ibis, and is an observer on the Neoss board. In addition, Tom is reponsible for all internal operations at MMC.
Prior to joining MMC, Tom worked for Active Private Equity, a venture capital firm investing in the consumer and leisure sectors, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advised clients in the financial services sector. Tom is a qualified chartered accountant, has an MBA from INSEAD and an MA in Economic History from Edinburgh University.

Jonathan Coker, Investment Manager
Jon joined MMC in 2007 as an Investment Manager. Prior to this, Jon worked on the Global Leveraged Fund desk in fixed income markets at JPMorgan. He has a degree in Engineering Science from St Peter's College, Oxford.

Tracy Scribner, Investment Manager
Tracy joined MMC in 2008 as an Investment Manager. Prior to this, she worked in Equity Capital Markets at Rothschild. Tracy has a degree in Maths from Balliol College, Oxford.

Rory joined MMC in 2009 as an Investment Manager. Prior to this, Rory worked as a generalist mergers & acquisitions analyst at Greenhill & Co, before going on to found a start-up business within the online media space. Rory has an MA in Economics from Edinburgh University.

Susan Byam-Cook, Investor Relations and Marketing Manager
Susan joined MMC in 2009. Prior to this, she was the Sales Manager for a bespoke tour operator. Susan has a BA in English Literature from Newcastle University.
