Passive Investing
The Co-Investment Fund is a pool of money managed by MMC on a discretionary basis that is open to new subscriptions on an ongoing basis — subscriptions can be made at any time according to investment appetite and individual tax capacity.
The minimum subscription to the Fund is £50,000 which we aim to invest in three to five companies within 12 to 18 months. Typically, our investors resubscribe at least once in order to achieve greater portfolio diversification. The Fund invests exclusively in shares that are EIS-qualifying at time of investment.
The Co-Investment Fund offers:
- Simplicity — no time involvement required after the initial subscription.
- Tax benefits — EIS tax relief means the maximum an investor risks is 48% of their initial investment.
- Diversification — within 12 to 18 months a subscription will be invested in three to five companies.
- Suitable for institutions — institutional investors such as charities and family offices can include venture capital in their asset class offering.
- Access to portfolio companies — we organise an annual investor event at which our portfolio companies are represented.
