Investment Criteria

Every investment proposal is reviewed according to the following investment criteria:

• Stage: growth companies where we are (usually) the first institutional investor
• Market: clearly defined niche within fast-growing market
• Position: potential market leader
• Management: senior-level experience in the relevant sector
• Geography: UK companies
• Capital investment: between £500,000 and £5,000,000 in an initial funding round (with an expectation of follow-on funding)
• Funding profile: only companies we can bring to profitability on our own resources

Deal structuring

Following initial meetings and investigation of the business plan we will issue Heads of Terms and commence an eight- to ten-week process of formal due diligence and deal structuring.

MMC conducts its own due diligence, seeking to minimise costs, but will bring in experts where necessary.

We are an equity investor, preferring to take ordinary shares, thereby aligning ourselves with management.
