Syndicate
The Syndicate is a group of experienced investors who retain
their investment discretion, investing on a deal-by-deal basis and
building their own portfolios.
How does it work?
Syndicate members invest on a deal-by-deal basis and build their
own portfolio, which is managed by MMC. They are active investors
who make their investment decisions after receiving a due diligence
report produced by MMC and hearing from management teams at
investor presentations. Syndicate members have the ability to say
'no' or to vary the amounts of their investments.
The Syndicate is not limited to EIS-qualifying investments and
investors have the opportunity to co-invest with the ECF in non
EIS-qualifying deals.
What does it offer?
Membership of the Syndicate offers simplicity, flexibility and
support: Syndicate members make their own investment decision
(there is no minimum investment) after which everything else is
handled by the MMC team.
Investors seeking non-discretionary investment may wish to
consider our EIS
Funds.
What do they bring to MMC?
Syndicate investors often provide relevant expertise or contacts
to portfolio management teams to maximise growth potential, and in
several cases act as a non-executive director or chairman. MMC's
Syndicate currently numbers over 70 individuals with experience as
entrepreneurs and/or industry leaders in multiple sectors.
What are the fees?
An initial one-off fee of £1,000 is charged to introduce
Syndicate members to investment opportunities. Syndicate investors
then pay a commission of 3% of new monies invested - there is no
annual management fee. A performance fee of 20% of any Capital Gain
is payable on a deal-by-deal basis. Syndicate members investing
£500,000+ in individual deals pay a reduced performance fee of
10%.
Please note that all fees are subject to VAT where
applicable.
