Sky-Futures secures $4m investment from Japanese conglomerate Mitsui
Whilst on the UK trade mission to Japan led by Prime Minister Theresa May, Sky-Futures confirm a $4m investment and partnership with industrial giant, Mitsui.
Sky-Futures is a specialist provider of drone-based inspection services to the global industrial markets. The strategic partnership with Mitsui will expand the use of Sky-Futures’ drone-based technology through the Japanese group’s network of clients in the energy, marine and infrastructure sectors.
Sky-Futures Founder and CEO, James Harrison, had this to say:
“This partnership with Mitsui brings industrial drone inspection into the mainstream. Demand for drone survey software is rocketing as a result of the shift to AI [artificial intelligence] and machine learning that is fundamentally changing the way inspection is done”.
MMC Ventures first invested in the business in 2015 and again in 2016 alongside Bristow Group.
